⇒ Serves children attending 23 elementary schools in 13 districts

⇒ Is a social service program providing services for 368 families & children

⇒ Is an educational readiness program preparing 3 and 4 year old children for kindergarten

⇒ Is a family education program that assists parents with GED & parenting skills

⇒ Provides parents with a wide variety of volunteer opportunities

⇒ Maintains an average class size of 16 children with 2 teaching staff

⇒ Provides a family style meal & snack

⇒ Provides health & dental screenings

⇒ Offers transportation services

⇒ Employs over 80 full & part time employees

⇒ Is funded by the Department of Health & Human Services

The mission of Tazewell Woodford Head Start is to create a sense of self- worth in children and parents, to provide resources and support to strengthen the family unit, to empower them to achieve their full potential, and to serve as an advocate within the community.
